We are pleased to see that WETEX has earned international recognition as a specialised platform showcasing latest developments in the fields of energy, environment and sustainability. It has been registering impressive growth year after year, and this year the local participation grew 8%. We are delighted that DEWA has emerged as a leader among the UAE organisations implementing green practices as part of the UAE government's vision of sustainability.

It is heartening to see that most UAE government organisations are taking part at WETEX, many of them using it as a platform to showcase their various environment-friendly initiatives. Moreover, educational institutions too have started showing interest in sustainability.

One of the significant developments today is that local and federal institutions in the UAE, including DEWA are making rapid strides in green development, and taking concrete measures by switching to sustainable alternatives, including solar energy.

We believe that sustainability is the responsibility of everyone, and it is great to see that organisations like DEWA are actively promoting the need to adopt green alternatives in the community as well as business sector.

DEWA organises ‘Green Week’ annually to raise awareness and promote a culture of environmental sustainability and conservation amongst various community segments.

DEWA organised the annual SmarTech as part of the 17th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2015), to shed the light on the key challenges in the environment sector, and come up with innovative eco-friendly solutions that support the economic growth while preserving natural resources and protecting the environment.
The exhibition provides additional opportunities for WETEX’s visitors and exhibitors to learn more about the latest developments in water, energy and the environment.
