WETEX 2024 brings together companies that support the decarbonisation of energy networks

24 Sep 2024

The 26th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2024 is attracting many local and global companies specialised in clean and renewable energy. Participating companies will highlight their latest innovative solutions to accelerate the energy transition and support the sustainability of the energy sector.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organises WETEX annually under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The 26th edition of WETEX will take place from 1-3 October 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

“Thanks to the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, WETEX has become a global event that brings together parties interested in keeping pace with the rapid developments in clean and renewable energy worldwide. It also offers a platform to promote communication, collaboration and innovation in developing technologies to decarbonise energy networks to address the challenges posed by energy transition and promote climate action. WETEX supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050 to provide 100% of the energy production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050. The event also consolidates the UAE’s influential role in promoting innovation and investment in sustainability and clean energy, to support the international effort to face climate change and realise goal seven of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)s 2030: Affordable and Clean Energy. WETEX 2024 supports global climate ambitions and the achievement of the global goal set by COP28, hosted by the UAE, which aims to triple renewable energy capacity by 2030,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX.

According to Energy think tank Ember, more than 30 per cent of the world’s electricity is now generated using renewables. This is partially due to the decrease in the cost of solar plants.
