WETEX 2024 supports future readiness of digital infrastructure worldwide
The 26th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2024 will host numerous global companies specialising in digital transformation and smart net-zero buildings.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organises WETEX annually under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy. The 26th WETEX will take place from 1 to 3 October 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Smart Grid
DEWA has developed a smart grid infrastructure that provides many environmental and economic benefits. These grids improve the efficiency of energy transmission and distribution, reduce losses and improve electrical load management. Smart grids also support the integration of renewable energy sources into the electrical grid, which enhances the sustainability of Dubai's energy system. The seamless, swift and effective operation of the smart grid has enabled DEWA to achieve competitive results that surpass prominent European and American companies in terms of efficiency and reliability. DEWA has set unprecedented global standards in the energy and water sectors, and has taken the top position globally in more than 10 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in its areas of work, according to a study conducted last year by a specialised international consultant. DEWA has recorded the lowest electricity Customer Minutes Lost (CML) worldwide, at 1.06 minutes, compared with about 15 minutes recorded by leading utility companies in the European Union.
