Hicham serves as the Vice President of Growth & Sustainability at Etihad Water & Electricity, where he leads both the expansion of existing business and the exploration of new diversification ventures. Recently, he incubated and drove the launch of UAEV, a new subsidiary focused on electric vehicle charging infrastructure. His role entailed strategy formulation, business planning, technological readiness, brand establishment, and organization setup.
Previously at TAQA, Hicham ran major programs such as the Advanced Metering Infrastructure initiative, which integrated over a million smart meters and significantly increased operational efficiency. He also directed several AI projects as part of the comprehensive Digital Transformation strategy. Additionally, Hicham worked closely with the Department of Energy on initiatives aimed at energy and water conservation.
Before entering the utility and energy sectors, Hicham accumulated extensive experience in the telecom industry at Ericsson. There, he expanded the company’s footprint in the Middle East and Africa through strategic product launches and business development efforts.
Hicham holds a master’s degree in business administration (MBA), a bachelor’s degree in computer science and has over 25 years of experience.
